Do you live in an older home? One that was built before 1950?

Answer:  If you answer 'I don't know' you're not alone.  Most people don’t know the age of their house. In fact a lot of people guess incorrectly 50% of the time. If you live in Renfrew County Ontario you can use our Lead Risk Search to look up your home address to see if it was built before 1950.

Lead is a serious brain poison that is especially harmful to developing infants and children. Believe it or not it was used in Canadian interior house paint legally until June 2005.

While not all older homes pose lead hazards, many do, and there are some precautions that you as a homeowner, parent, and/or tenant need to know about.
